Surrounded by excellence

This week I battled sickness.  For those of you that don’t know me-I’m not a “good” sick person. I hate being sick. My good friend Daniela put it well, “When I’m sick, I don’t want anyone around me. I do, however, want someone near that can hear my agony from a room away, the occasional moan of pain.”  I couldn’t agree more.

While being forced to sit still and recover-I couldn’t help but notice some pretty amazing people and things going on around me.  Two of ROW’s board members, Nell Shuttleworth and Morgan Funke are competing at the CRASH B’s this weekend, also known as the World Indoor Rowing Championship (AMAZEMENT). Not only are they rock star board members who support ROW, they are also phenomenal athletes. You can bet I’ll be glued to the results page and cheering them on (along with the ROW team) from Chicago. GO NELL AND MORGAN!

At practice this week the ROW team will be prepping their 2k’s for the Chicago Indoor Rowing Championships on Saturday. For many, this is their first indoor race. If you’re in Chicago and want catch some great races or cheer the team on, be sure to come out!

I had a great meeting with our Row4ROW crew this week as well.  We meet monthly to plan and share our progress. Here’s a photo from our meeting Friday morning.

To learn more about the crew that makes this trip possible, visit the Row4ROW Crew Page.

Stay tuned for the Row4ROW video we’re releasing this week! A great way to share and spread the word of ROW and Row4ROW. Inspired to get fit and kick cancer’s ass? Sign up for our Charity Race Team for the Bank of America Chicago marathon.

Thank you for your continued support of ROW and this trip. If you’d like to sponsor a mile of my adventure, take a look here to donate $100 in support of an amazing cause and effort.
